About Me
My name is Shannon Morean and I currently live in Greensboro, NC. I live in an apartment next to the arboretum. I have a new all black kitty called Princess Shuri. I also have a reliable 2016 blue chevy that gets my fiance Mark and I everywhere we need to go.
Usually during the summer I visit family that lives in Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and North Carolina but if a full time position becomes available I'd enjoy the work as well as taking weekend trips.
I currently work with Guilford County Schools (Dec. 2018) as a daily elementary substitute and as an elementary tutor with one 2 one tutoring (Sept. 2019) in Burlington, NC.
The last two years during the beginning of the year (April-July) I have worked with Measurement Incorporated grading student essays to specific guidelines.
Also l worked with Triad Math and Science Academy (2018) as a 4th grade long term elementary teacher.
When I first moved to North Carolina -- I educated 5th grade students in a Randolph Elementary Education School for (2016-2018).
Before moving to NC, I substituted in the surrounding Pennsylvania school districts.
I graduated in May 2011 from Clarion University with a degree in Elementary Education K-6. For the first two years after graduation, I held a special education aide, and Kindergarten tutor job with the St. Marys Area School District (SMASD). For the 2013-2014 school year, I was a Fifth grade tutor in SMASD.
Also since January 2012, I've worked weekends and summers at Metal Powder Products as an Operator.
During the fall semester of 2013, I started taking classes towards my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Clarion University. I have finished taking classes for my Masters and have a certificate in Curriculum and Instruction. During my schooling I was a member of the HonorSociety.com and for Six years I was apart of the Pennsylvania Educators Association.
During the summer and long breaks, I usually create and craft projects to pass the time. (www.facebook.com/sjmores-creations).
Sometimes they are educational and other times just as a decorative hobby. I love creating and learning new ways to incorporate technology into my teaching even when I do not have a classroom to call my own. I am an avid collector of books, rocks & gems, new teaching and technology ideas, and just general ideas from other teaching professionals.
I am usually the quiet, sincere, observer but can instantly become in control of a situation in a moments notice.
