Teaching Goals
What do you want your students to accomplish and develop in you class(es)/course(s)?
I want to have SMART goals in my classroom. SMART stands for Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Time-Bound.
Specific
1. In my classroom I want my students to increase their knowledge in a multitude of ways. I want them to learn from books, worksheets, computers, teachers, laptops, iPads, their peers, themselves, and anything else that they can learn from.
2. I want my students to be able to develop their own opinions, grow up in the way they think and act in the classroom, and develop their own reasoning, thinking, analyzing skills.
3. I want my students to provide information when it says explain, I want them to be able to explain, I want them to know exactly what we are learning about in the classroom.
Measurable
1. My students will be measured daily, I want them to learn and grow each and every day, I want them to have fun learning, experimenting, and exploring the world around them.
2. They will also be measured on worksheets, tests, quizzes, assignments, papers, forums, surveys, projects and much more. I want to make sure they understand most of everything.
3. In the future, I want to see to see them develop throughout the school years and hopefully remember what they achieved or what they had yet to grow on as time went on.
Attainable
1. I want all my students to find some sort of challenge and succeed.
2. I want them to be able to see a problem and know that they can fix it, or at least know where they can find the knowledge to fix it.
Relevant
1. In my classroom, I want students to know my objectives and learn the outcomes of what we are learning and exploring together.
2. I want to collaborate with the teachers before my grade level and after to see what they have or should have learned last year and what they should or will learn in my classroom to be a successful student for the upcoming year.
Time-Bound
1. I want to know what my students are capable in short and long periods of time. I want to know their learning styles, how they process information and how I can become a better teacher knowing how my students learn.
