Erasers
in a Jar
- Pick a jar, depending on class and eraser sizes. - Start with maybe 5 or 10 erasers in the jar. - When a student in my classroom has good behavior put an eraser or two in the jar. -- Good behavior: raising his/her hand, respecting others, working quietly, etc. - When a student in my classroom has bad behavior take an eraser or two out of the jar. -- Bad behavior: yelling out, not raising their hand, running in the hall, etc. - When the jar is filled with erasers (or up to a 100) the class will have a party. - If the jar goes completely empty, the student names goes into the jar and he/she will have to apologize to the class for the bad behavior. If the student does not have some kind of good behavior before the jar is filled, he/she will not be included in the classroom party. Classroom Jobs - Students will have a job each day to remind them of responsibilities and keep them on task with conflict. Jobs will change, depending on grade taught. Job List: Line Leader, Caboose, Lights, Trash collector, Calendar, Hall monitor, sub monitor, Board cleaner, Eraser cleaner, Errands, Teacher assistant, Paper passer, Librarian, etc. Behavior Chart - Students will have their name on a clothes pin. - Every day they will start on green. - Throughout the day they could go up or down the color sheet depending on their behavior. |
